what does a family lawyer do in particula?
well i’m 14 and i want to be a lwayer, i think i would be most interested in a family lawyer?
but what do they exacly do and what kind of situations do they help in?
Family attorneys deal primarily with custody issues, divorce, domestic violence petitions, adoptions and other legal issues.
While it can be interesting, I find it frustrating and draining. With respect to custody/alimony/etc., no one party is ever satisfied. They always want more and they often want you to make the other side look bad. Many of these clients either take their frustrations out on their attorney.
At DNA hearings as a GAL, often times you feel very bad for your client as they have had/are having a rough life.
I prefer criminal work – but to each his own. Good luck.
Adoptions are awesome – but not worth the rest of it.
